SKANEATELES, N.Y. — Hours after a bullet was found in a middle school bathroom, classes are back to normal for Skaneateles students.
Staff placed Skaneateles’ middle school and high school on lockdown this morning. Although the lockdown ended before 9:30 a.m., both schools continued to shelter in place for hours.
The Skaneateles Police Department and the New York State Police investigated. With the help of K-9s, police searched and eventually cleared the school, said Skaneateles Police Chief Dan Coon.
The shelter-in-place order has been lifted, the district said, and classes have resumed. More information will be released this afternoon, the district said.
