India vs South Africa, 1st T20: Shikhar Dhawan dominated with the bat for India and Bhuvneshwar Kumar did so with the ball. In the end, India continued their dominance over South Africa to win by 28 runs.
India’s intentions of what they wanted to do was made very clear in the very first over when Rohit Sharma went hammer and tongs. India earned a thumping start to put South Africa under early pressure and despite a less-than-desired finish, they had done enough to put the hosts on the backfoot. Shikhar Dhawan’s 72 runs carried India to 203/5 with some crucial cameo appearances by everyone in the middle. In reply, South Africa were three down quickly before Behardien and Hendricks put together 81 runs to keep them alive and chase a probable effort. However as the asking rate continued to rise, Yuzvendra Chahal provided the breakthrough before Bhuvneshwar Kumar ran through the lower middle order. Bhuvi picked up his best T20 figures with a fifer and ensured India romped home without a fuss and a 28 run win. India take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
